Creating Mobile-Friendly Links in Eolas Medical

Overview

This guide explains how to create mobile-friendly links in Eolas Medical, addressing the common issue of broken mobile links. Following the steps below ensures that links added to documents or sections work seamlessly on both web and mobile versions of the app.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Access the Editor

    • Open the section or document where you want to add a link.
    • Click the Edit button to enter the editor view.
  2. Highlight and Add a Link

    • Highlight the text you want to hyperlink.
    • Click the Link Icon in the editor toolbar.
  3. Avoid Using URL Bar Links

    • Important: Do not copy links directly from the browser URL bar.
These links may work in the web app but will not function correctly on mobile devices due to differences in how mobile links are structured.
  4. Use the Deep Link Wizard

    • To create mobile-friendly links, use the Deep Link Wizard:
      • Click Link to Documents in the wizard menu.
      • Select the desired section, document, or item from the available list.
      • Confirm your selection to generate a mobile-compatible link.
    • This ensures the link structure is optimized for both web and mobile access.
  5. Save and Test the Link

    • Save your changes to the document or section.
    • Verify the link works on both web and mobile versions of the app.
  6. Alternative Link Creation Methods

    • Share Link:
      • Click on the three dots next to the document or item.
      • Select Share Link to generate a shareable link.
    • Login Token Link:
      • If needed, choose Create Login Token Link to generate a password-less link for the item.
  7. Final Reminder

    • Always use the Deep Link Wizard or Share Link options to create links.
    • Avoid copying URLs from the browser directly, as this may lead to broken links in the mobile app.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • If a link does not work as expected on mobile, review its structure to ensure it was created using the Deep Link Wizard or Share Link feature.
