Optimising Your Education Portal: A Guide to Creating and Managing Sections.

Sections play a pivotal role in maintaining order and enhancing your educational journey, whether it's for onboarding or facilitating weekly journal clubs. This comprehensive guide will walk you through the process of creating new sections, allowing you to tailor your Education Portal to meet your specific requirements.

But, before you dive into the content creation process, let's start by setting up a new section to ensure everything stays neatly organised.

Here are a few important points to keep in mind:

  • You must have Administrator privileges to add content to your space. If you're the creator of the space, you automatically have admin rights.

  • Access the application via a web browser on your desktop computer and log in to your account.

Now, let's quickly recap the steps to get to the Content Management page:

  1. Log in to the Space you want to manage.

     

  2. Click on the "Admin Panel" button located at the top right corner.

     

  3. Then, select "Content Management".

Creating a New Section on your Educational Portal.

Once you've reached the Content Management page, you'll notice a list of features. Look for the "Educational Portal" tab and just click on it.

💡 If you can't find the Education Portal, check the "Activate New Section" option at the top and reactivate it.

You will be redirected to the Educational Portal page, where you'll need a section to add your content. Keep in mind that all sections for your Education Portal will be easily accessible and manageable from this central hub


To add or create a new section, just follow these steps and begin your journey.

  1. Click on "Add New Section" at the top of the page.

     

     

     

  2. Give your new section a name that clearly reflects its contents.

     

  3. Select "Next" to proceed.

     

     

     

  4. Choose an icon that best represents the theme or purpose of your section.

     

  5. Finally, click "Finish" to create the new section.

     

  6. And voila! your section has been created!

Editing an Educational Portal Section.

If you're looking to make adjustments to an existing Section – whether it's about renaming it or giving its icon an update, you can easily do so.

  1. Locate the section you want to edit. Over on the right side of that section, you'll see a duo of icons: a bin for "Delete" and a pen & paper icon for "Edit".

     

  2. Click on the "paper & pen" icon (Edit).

     

     

     

  3. This is where you can work your magic. Feel free to give the section a fresh name or select a different icon to represent it.

     

  4. Once you've got things just the way you want, click "Finish" to save the changes.

Deleting an Educational Portal Section.

If you no longer need a Section, you can delete by following the next steps:

  1. Locate the section you want to delete.

     

  2. Click on the "bin" icon (Delete).

     

     

     

  3. A confirmation prompt will appear to confirm the deletion. If you want to go ahead click on the "Delete" button.

Please note that by confirming the deletion, the Section and all content in it will be permanently removed.

Reorganising the Sections within the Educational Portal.

If you find that the current arrangement of your Sections doesn't flow logically and you want to establish a more structured order for user convenience, here's how you can do it:

  1. Select the Section you wish to relocate.

     

  2. Drag it to the desired position in the list of Sections. As you drag the Section, you will see a white hand indicator.

     

  3. Release the mouse click to place the Section in its new position.

     

  4. Your Section is now successfully reordered.
